Little balls of thought rolling around the webscape
UPDATE: Apparently the boxes have labels on them. As in “Building 3, Floor 6, Office #blah.”

As in, walk up to a stack and “Oh, I see these boxes are being delivered to my office. Guess I can pack now.” [see update 3]

Heart-wrenching.

UPDATE 2: “one of my colleagues just went over to verify the label report from [name withheld] and was greeted by [a] guard who asked if he could be of help”

UPDATE 3: Turns out that the labels on the boxes may be there simply because they’re recycled from previous office moves, and NOT because they’re destined for a particular office. This actually makes TONS of sense since if AOL was organized enough to be able to label that many boxes for that many people in advance of such a large move… then they likely wouldn’t have found themselves in a position requiring a large layoff.
